Exactly I always check when the green light signal before I drive straight. I know I have kind of similiar .. my daughter turn up tone in stero. She cannot hear the siren. you are not alone. I am difficult to decision to make sure no siren of Police, Fire truck and EMR- Emergency Medical Rescues, too.

I have to check other side and everywhere before I go while green signal light.

Thanks for share,too.

As for not using lights and sirens, that's called 'running hot and silent'. They do that when they need to get somewhere fast, but they don't want to alert any potential bad-guys that they're on thier way. However, they are SUPPOSED to turn the flashing lights on to alert others like you. - Bug

I would encourage you to get a t-shirt with "Hearing is Deaf-impaired" through No Hear T-shirt company. That would make hearing people wake up and become more aware about Deaf people. Check www.nohear.com for more information.

Unforunately, I got struck by the 22 years-old hearing guy last summer 2007.

I always have been cautious wherever I go.

I did look every sides before I get off the sidewalk to the crossing lane.

I looked at the major four-intersection before cars made the left pass from me standing on the middle of road. There was suddenly the jeep with 22 years old guy yakked on the cell phone and didn't paid any attention to pedestrians. I held four food bags. I dropped bags to wave to this guy few feets from me. That was too late. I ended up in the hosptial for one month, then two and half months in the nursing home.

The police filed the report that I was at my own fault for running past the car during the green light. That was total lie!

I am going to get the lawyer ASAP. I finally get much physically better.

My right knee and right femur (thigh) bone were totally smashed and replaced with metal stuff. Uh!

True biz? Eeeek! I guess what we learned back in Kindergarten (look both ways before you cross the street) is still one of the best pieces of information we received.

Glad you're safe, dear one. Good to see you vlog!

Im surprised that the lights didnt change automatically to red or "No Walk" when police car approach, they have computerized system to change the lights unless the light systems is still old fashioned.
Anyway, glad you are still alive and vlogging.
